Diurnal variation in occurrence of strokes

Author(s): Marshall J

Abstract

The time of onset of a completed stroke was recorded in 707 patients. Of the 554 cerebral infarctions 40% occurred between midnight and 6 a.m. Onset at night was, if anything, less common among the 153 cases of cerebral hemorrhage.
